e-Vermont Initiatives in Bristol were spearheaded by a small, but productive team representing town government, local businesses, library, non-profits, schools, and public access television. In one short year, this team succeeded in bringing the following accomplishments to Bristol:
- 46 netbook packages and training to help ensure that every one of the students in grade 5 receives a 21st century education;
- A Free Front Porch Forum community e-newsletter that 1063 subscribers used more than 3500 times to buy and trade household goods, promote local events, recommend local businesses and much more;
- Computer hardware to enable public access station NEATV to produce multi-media content for both cable TV and Internet subscribers;
- A free, public access WiFi zone in downtown Bristol – a collaboration between the Lawrence Memorial Library, Bristol Downtown Community Partnership, local businesses and town government – that provides access to the Internet as well as promotion for the community;
