In 2015, we held 3 Climate Economy Forums with Vermonters across the state to gather their best ideas for ways to advance Vermont’s climate economy. Over 150 participants joined us in Rutland (August 26), Brattleboro (October 6), and Burlington (October 29). We were so impressed by the creative and innovative thinking, the consideration for and pride in Vermont’s landscape, businesses, and farms, and the vision around how Vermont can move forward and lead the way in the face of a changing climate. We’ve compiled their thinking into a list of 40 “Ideas to Advance Vermont’s Climate Economy.” While the potential action ideas serve as key input for the Vermont Climate Economy Council (VCCEC), they are not intended as platform recommendations by the VT Council on Rural Development or VCCEC. These ideas will be reviewed by the VCCEC as they develop their platform of recommendations to be released in February 2016 at the Vermont Climate Economy Summit: Ideas to Action at Vermont Technical College.
