The application process for 2019 is now closed
The Vermont Climate Economy Model Communities Program invites proposals from Vermont towns and local leaders interested in increasing local economic prosperity by working together to identify home, business, and community solutions to address climate change. Two communities will be selected to work with the program in 2019. Please note, eligibility for the program has been expanded. Towns with populations from 1,000 to 20,000 can apply.
Webinar: We held a webinar for interested towns on Friday, December 21. The powerpoint presentation from that webinar can be viewed here. If there is additional demand, we will schedule another webinar after the New Year. E-mail Jon Copans (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you are interested. We are also always happy to connect directly with any potential applicants to answer questions.
Timeline (see diagram below): The deadline for applications is January 18, 2019. After in-person meetings with finalists, selection of two communities will happen by February 4, 2019. The program will be initiated for the first community later in February.
