LYNDON CENTER — The entire community is invited to take part in a forum focused on making positive changes for the future of Lyndon and Lyndonville on Feb. 16.
The program, called the Lyndon Community Visit Day, is being organized by the Vermont Council on Rural Development (VCRD).
Last week, a group of Lyndon Institute students jump-started the process, meeting with Jenna Koloski, the community and policy manager for the council, who asked students for help brainstorming the positive attributes of the town, and then what they would like to see in the future.
Koloski explained that Lyndon and Lyndonville are the latest in more than 50 community visits which the council has conducted, to help envision steps for the town’s future.
She told the LI students that often some of the ideas shared by the young residents in a community end up being among the priorities which move forward into projects. “Making sure your voices are heard is critical,” she said.
