One Burke Community Visit Program invites the full community together to set direction for the future

On Tuesday, July 11, 2017, all members of the Burke community are invited to participate in a series of forums in town to share their concerns and ideas. VCRD will bring a team of close to 20 federal, state, business, nonprofit, and philanthropic leaders who will listen to residents and will return to the community in months ahead with recommendations, ideas and support in developing action plans and funding strategies. Click HERE for the schedule of the day.

The One Burke Community Visit Day will include focus groups on six different topics and a FREE community dinner at the Burke Town School (see the schedule with locations below). FREE childcare will be available during the forums. Forum sessions for discussion on the 11th include: Advancing Tourism; Roads, Trails, Walkways, and Safety; Economic Development and the Future of our Downtowns; The Future of Education; Communications and Town Unity; Enhancing Opportunities for Youth and Families.

The Community Visit is an important opportunity for people to think forward about Burke’s future, to exchange ideas, to meet Vermont leaders, and to take steps toward positive change. VCRD welcomes diverse perspectives and encourages ALL members of the community to participate.
