Local Power Energy Summit
VCRD's Local Power energy summit, held at Lyndon State College on August 22 drew over 350 partipants, eager to explore Vermont's energy future.
Senator Patrick Leahy addressed the crowd, and emphasized the importance and urgency of a strong energy policy. Governor Jim Douglas, Lt. Governor Brian Dubie, and Dan Reicher of New Energy Capital spoke as well.
Participants worked in morning and afternoon sessions in smaller groups focused on solar, hydro, biomass, methane, biofuels, waste-to-power, efficiency and conservation, wind, a "green brand", and community energy planning.
